Texas Hunting

The Double F Ranch, Sonora Texas

The Double F Ranch located in Sutton County south east of Sonora, Texas was established late in 2005.  The ranch has
available a variety of free ranging whitetail deer, axis deer, wild boar, and turkey hunts.  There is significant game across the
ranch providing an excellent opportunity for every hunter.  

Axis and wild boar have no restricted season in Texas so they can be hunted year around.  Whitetail deer and turkey hunts
are available for bow or rifle hunters per the Texas Parks and Wildlife hunting calendar which normally starts for bow in
early October and for rifle in early November with the season running into middle January.  For more detail for Sutton

Hunts are guided for whitetail and may be unguided for axis, whitetail doe, turkey and hog hunts.   Hunting blinds are
available but hunters may bring portable hunting blinds if desired.  

The Double F Ranch offers a hunters cabin which includes a kitchen, laundry and bath room and bunks for up to 6 hunters.
 A satellite TV is available for those interested in catching their favorite TV show or sports event. A BBQ pit and fire pit
provide for those after hunt cook outs and post hunt stories.  Cellular carriers such as Sprint and Cingular do work in the
event a phone is necessary.

Combo Hunts:
Spring Axis buck / Axis doe / gobbler turkey	$1,750	$150 per inch for Axis buck over 32 inches
Axis doe and  2 spring gobbler turkey	$900
*  All white tail hunts are provided with a guide and the guide will determine the deer for harvest (trophy, management or cull bucks)
Management, trophy and cull bucks are harvested based on an age of at least 4 yrs or greater and certain trophy breeder bucks
will not be allowed to be shot.
Lodging and Food:
Two (2) nights Lodging included per hunter
Additional lodging is $50 per day per hunter. Optional meal cost (food and preparation) $40 per day (minimum 4 hunters)
No meal cost if provided and prepared by hunters (kitchen available).
Deer cooler for deer storage and a washer and dryer available at no charge.
Deposit:
$350 per hunter due at booking to secure dates desired (covers ranch access cost and 2 days of lodging)
Remaining balance:  Selected hunt package fees due at start of hunt.  Any additional harvest fees to be collected at end of hunt.
Maxium of 6 hunters and minimum of 3 hunters per day will be required to secure a hunt for a single group.
